XL HOCKEY TEAM
If you would like to represent your school in the XL Hockey League, just make a request on the registration form; i.e. XL WAYZATA, XL WOODBURY, XL EDEN PRAIRIE.
If there are only a few kids from a particular school, you will be grouped together with other kids from your area; i.e., XL North (Blaine & Anoka), Benilde & St. Louis Park, etc.
If you are signing up as in individual, you can request to play with a different area, or with kids from your area.
XL HOCKEY PLAYER
GOLD LEVEL:
Players in the gold level are generally sophmores and older who grew up playing youth hockey, as well as other sports. With the trend in today's world, it is common for multiple sport athletes to eliminate one or more sports to pursue one specific sport. An example would be a kid who grows up playing football in the fall and hockey in the winter. This person may see a better opportunity for himself to play football beyond high school so he will quit hockey because of the time commitment and risk for injury. The majority of players in the Gold level star in a different sport in high school, but enjoy lacing up the skates once a week to play with friends. It is a great way to reconnect with old hockey teammates who may have gone to a different school, or to simply form a team with high school friends.
Other players in the Gold division play in the XL Hockey League because of an injury that has forced them to sit out a season of contact hockey, or because of a numbers game with their high school. Each year there are a handful of Gold level players who move on to Junior Varsity and Varsity programs later in their high school career.
SILVER LEVEL:
Players in the Silver level are typically players who have some experience in hockey and want to play in a lower intensity league. Most players here grown up playing B-2 and C level hockey and have decided that they want to play other sports or participate in various activiites such as: skiing, band, orchestra, extra curricular activities at school, etc. The ages in this division typically range from 13-18.
There are also a good number of players who have minimal experience with orgnaized hockey, but grew up skating at park rinks outside. The XL Hockey League encourages any student with an interest in hockey to sign up.

XL Hockey is a proud affiliate of MN Hockey & USA Hockey.
All players must register with MN Hockey as a player and
must include the confirmation page or number from
MN Hockey along with the XL registration form.
